Bible- The word of God

The word of God is alive and active, sharper than any double-edged sword. It cuts all the way through, to where soul and spirit meet, to where the joints and marrow come together. It judges the desires and thoughts of man’s heart.                                  Hebrews 4:12

Bible is the holy scriptures of Christians. Widely called as the word of God, it is inspired by God himself and “is useful for teaching the truth, rebuking the error, correcting the faults and giving instruction for right living” as mentioned in one of the books of the bible, 2 Timothy 3:16. It is a collection of books and letters that was written several years ago by not just one author but several authors(the most interesting part here is, the authors of these books are from different professional backgrounds like Kings, Farmers, Shepherds, Priest and Tax-collector etc) who lived at different period of time and belonged to different geographic locations.

What’s more amazing is that this book does not just have stories about faithful, loving, obedient or godly figures but also about the imperfect life of mankind, about rulers and leaders who started their life as a shepherd and slave. They all lived an imperfect life just like you and me! God through his love perfected all the imperfections in their lives which is why we can still trust the word of God, even today and forever. It is never outdated.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. But by the free gift of God’s grace all are put right with him through Christ Jesus, who sets them free. Romans 3:23-24

There are so many good and bad examples in bible whom we can very much relate to our personal lives even today and learn from them. The mistakes we commit today, they already did. I will be writing about a few interesting biblical characters in my future posts who astonished me.
